Our Story
Matt and I met at our school. I say school, not high school, because it was a small Christian school. We probably met for the first time when I was in middle school and he was in high school. We had a lot of mutual friends. However, we did not really get to know each other until my freshman year, his senior. We went on a missions trip to El Salvador and really got to know each other.
Here's an old pic of us before we were dating.... I was maybe 14 or 15?
We did not begin dating until two years later. I was a junior/senior in high school; he was back from college. We began hanging out as friends and then became a couple on January 4th, 2008. We realized pretty early on that we wanted this to last. We never really thought that it was a short term relationship.

After 8 months or so of dating I went on to college so for the next couple years our relationship was on the phone and seeing each other on the weekends. It was hard, but we made it.
In August, before I went to start my junior year of college he proposed to me in the same spot he had asked me to be his girlfriend two and half years earlier. At the time he didn't have a ring for me, but his asking for me to "make him the happiest man in the world and be his wife" was enough. Later, he gave me his mom's engagement ring.
Then on January 8, 2011 we got married. (See the Wedding Bells tab for more info on that.)
We've been married for 4 years now and have added a new member to our family, Daniel. He is the light of our lives!
He was born on November 29, 2014. He weighed 9 pounds and 15 ounces (Big Boy!) and was 21 inches long. We think he's just the best baby we could have ever been blessed with.
